Opposite the Guest house is Del’s Café open mornings and evening and The Railway Hotel. A few hundred yards away on Station Road is The Pisces Fish & Chip Restaurant (eat in or take-away). Just behind the Guest House, accessed though Sunnnyside Lane, are outdoor Tennis Courts available for hire in the playing fields. Half a mile from the Guest House is the main Yate Shopping Centre where there is a comprehensive Leisure Centre open 7 days a week offering gym facilities, swimming pool, badminton, squash courts etc.

Less than a mile further on from the shopping centre is the picturesque market town of Chipping Sodbury where the local farmers' market is held on the 4th Thursday and 2nd Saturday of the month. Chipping Sodbury has an assortment of pubs and eating places to suit all tastes. Many of the pubs offer live entertainment and food throughout the week and eating out offers a choice of Thai, Italian, Chinese & Indian Restaurants.
